Alexis Jordan and Shangela Highlight Out on the Mountain Event

Nearly 6,000 people attended this year’s Six Flags Magic Mountain’s annual Gay Night called “Out on the Mountain”. This event created by Six Flags Magic Mountain and DJ Ray Rhodes started in 2008 and is the oldest annual exclusive LGBT amusement park event in Southern California.

Entertainment highlights included Alexis Jordan who sang her #1 dance hits “Happiness” and “Good Girl”, Shangela of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” who performed a special number for the crowd, Daniel Joseph Baker of “America’s Got Talent” who shared his fabulous singing talents, DJ Ray Rhodes (of “TigerHeat”) hostess Ingenue (Outstanding West Hollywood Drag Diva 2007 and 2008), DJ Steve Oaks, and Marky Make-Up.

The event raised thousands of dollars for local gay charities and organizations, including GLAAD, L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s Lifeworks, The Center Orange County, The Center Long Beach, Pacific Pride Foundation, and API Equality LA. Next year’s event is on Friday, September 20th, 2013.

Out on the Mountain 2012: Gay Night at Magic Mountain Almost Here

Six Flags Magic Mountain’s annual Gay Night with “Out on the Mountain” returns this year on Friday, September 21, 2012. Out on the Mountain is the creation of Six Flags Magic Mountain and DJ Ray Rhodes started in 2008. Over 6,000 people are expected to attended this one-of-a-kind Southern California event of thrill rides and private gay party, while raising funds for local gay charities and organizations. The entire park closed to the general public for this private GLBT party from 6pm-1am. Entertainment includes Alexis Jordan (with #1 dance hits “Happiness” and “Good Girl”), Shangela (of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and other shows), DJ Ray Rhodes (of “TigerHeat”) hostess Ingenue (Outstanding West Hollywood Drag Diva 2007 and 2008), Daniel Joseph Baker (of “America’s Got Talent”), DJ Steve Oaks, and Marky Make-Up. The entire Magic Mountain park is open with rides including Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom, Green Lantern: First Flight, Superman: Escape from Krypton, Batman the Ride, Tatsu, Apocalypse, The Riddler’s Revenge, and X2.

Tickets, which include free parking, are on sale in advance for $37 below, with door price of $50. Tickets + All-You-Can-Eat Dinner are available for $50. VIP tickets are available for $150 and include a front-of-line wristband, all-you-can-eat dinner, beer/wine drink tickets for those 21+, $10 in Bugs Bunny bucks, and premium parking. A portion of the proceeds from OutontheMountain.com sales are benefiting local gay charities and organizations, including GLAAD, L.A.
